Our Work
P3 Pillars are the five essential categories where our work is focused. We carefully selected each pillar by working with the people of Providence to determine what kinds of initiatives were needed, and then combining these findings with the types of programs that P3 is best poised to co-create.

Signature Program Offerings
Blender Bike Madness
where: Providence Parks and Rec centers
what: A favorite in all neighborhoods across Providence, Blender Bike Madness blends food, fun and fitness! When youth spin the pedals of our ‘blender bike’, the spinning powers a blender which creates delicious, nutritious smoothies. Youth learn about the awesome ingredients that go into their smoothies, exercise to create the smoothies, and enjoy their creations.
impact: To date, Kobe (BBM’s founder) has helped to blend over 10,000 smoothies with and for youth across the city!
Garden Club
where: Providence Rec centers
what: At garden club, youth tend to plants in garden beds located outside of rec centers. Specifically, they plant seeds, care for them each week, learn about the nutritional value of what they’re growing, and harvest! Gardening is a great way to see the impact of care.
Safety Ambassadors
where: Providence Parks & Rec centers
what: Safety Ambassadors are a team of youth ambassadors who distribute PPE and programming materials to parks and rec centers as our communities emerge from COVID-19. The group was formed with funding from RIDOH, and spent much of the pandemic creating COVID safety content in accordance with information provided by RIDOH.
Engagement Kits
where: designated meal sites
what: During COVID-19, P3 pivoted traditional programming in accordance with social distancing and safety guidelines. As such, we channeled themes from our previous work (like POPArt!, PlayCorps, and more) into various kits filled with items that youth could take home! Specifically, P3 co-created Art, Nature, Sport/Play, and COVID-19 Safety kits.
Produce in the Park
where: Cabral Park and Mount Pleasant Park, with sharing tables across the city
what: PIP is a market share program that aims to alleviate food insecurity by making delicious, locally sourced produce available to residents of Providence at various price points. Specifically, the market works in such a way that when enough people pay full-price to participate in the program and receive a weekly bag of fresh produce, the market can accommodate more people paying subsidized prices. The market is located at designated parks in Providence and typically operates during the Summer and Fall seasons.
impact: As of the close of the Fall 2021 program, we’ve distributed 7,000+ shares of produce to Providence youth and families.
Art Club
where: Providence Rec centers
what: Youth receive creative prompts and projects and have access to all of the art supplies they need to bring their great ideas to life!
Building Club
where: Providence Rec centers
what: Colorful plastic shapes are the mediums for building club. Imaginations run wild as youth piece together the shapes to create objects, animals and more!
Fit Club
where: Providence Rec centers
what: Weekly fitness program led by an instructor, designed to keep youth moving in fun ways!
Reverse Field Trips
where:
Providence Rec centers
what: We bring the field trip to you! We work with Rec centers and other local community organizations to co-host nature walks, giant games, racetracks, farm visits as well as visits from our friends at the Museum of Natural History and the Roger Williams Zoo!
